VersaSense gateway allow developers to configure the access to the system console in the menu Gateway Configuration -> Developers. Developers can upload their public SSH key(s) to gain developer access on the gateway. Therefore, they can ssh to the gateway via ssh root@gateway-ip

How to generate and use SSH keys? - Linux / Mac OS X
  1. Execute: ssh-keygen -t rsa
  2. Destination path and filename: ~/.ssh/id_rsa
  3. No passphrase (empty)
  4. Paste contents of the generated public key file (~/.ssh/id_rsa.pub) in the text area on this page.
    1. Linux: cat ~/.ssh/id_rsa.pub
    2. Mac OS X: cat ~/.ssh/id_rsa.pub | pbcopy
  5. Press the "Save and Upload" button and your key will be uploaded.
  6. Add the generated private key to the ssh-agent on your local machine: ssh-add ~/.ssh/id_rsa
